“My daughter has taken Miss Shannon’s Reading Rascals classes for almost a year now and has learned so much; from letter identification to enhanced reading skills, Miss Shannon truly knows how to work with each child to bring out the best in them. We are looking forward to more classes in the future.”

“Shannon at Reading Rascals taught my son to understand phonics and word sounds in the most creative and fun way so that he retained it all and learned to read early. Now as a 7 year old, my son is the strongest reader in the whole class reading up to a 5th grade level. Thank you Miss Shannon!”

“…Miss Shannon’s program is incredible. Her expertise is unmatched! She breaks down reading concepts and really makes it much less overwhelming for children. Miss Shannon works with each child as an individual to help them succeed at their own pace. She taught both my kids to read and don’t know what we would have done without her.”

“Our experience with Miss Shannon and Reading Rascals has been wonderful. I started my daughter before she entered TK and noticed a difference almost immediately in her letter and number recognition, her retention and her confidence! As we have continued through the program, I have been happy with how much she has learned. Reading Rascals introduces her to concepts before she learns them in school, allowing her to be one step ahead. Now she is in Kindergarten and is thriving and confident! I just recently starter my younger son in the program as well. He went from not being interested in holding a pencil, to writing his name and recognizing several different letters. I am excited to continue to see the progress with both of my children. Thank you Miss Shannon for your patience and guidance. She makes it a fun and inviting learning environment.”

“…Miss Shannon is a breath of fresh air when your child learns differently from the norm”

– Christy Pagel

“Miss Shannon is literally the best. We started going to Miss Shannon 2 years ago. My son loved her and learned so much in his sessions. We have a unique situation as our son was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. Miss Shannon adjusted her schedule in order to come to our home for his reading sessions. She has been key in his learning while he has been out of school.”

Back to School Tips:Establish a Routine: Begin gradually adjusting their sleep and wake-up times to get them back into a school schedule. A consistent routine can help them feel more prepared and confident. Talk About School: Have open conversations about what your Rascals can expect at school. Discuss fun and exciting aspects of school, like making new friends, learning new things, and engaging in fun activities. Healthy Meals: Start preparing healthy meals and snacks for them. A balanced diet can support your Rascal's physical and cognitive development. Limit Screen Time: Gradually reduce screen time as the school year approaches. This will help your kids adjust to a more focused and structured learning environment. (Check out our June Newsletter “Limiting Screen Time” for more information) ... See MoreSee Less
